I was born and raised in northern Mexico, in TorreonCity, the capital of the State of Coahuila. Even though the hospitality and tourism industry was not one of the main activities in my city, I always felt in my heart that I was inclined to work with people, especially in the particularly fun part called "vacations". And so my career began…
I was 18 years old, just finishing high school when I was given the opportunity to move to Puerto Vallarta to work in a hotel. I was already fluent in English and looking forward to the break from school. After working just a few months in Puerto Vallarta, I turned my attention to Cabo San Lucas, where I started a job as a hostess in a hotel. I realized quickly that I wanted to be a professional in the hospitality industry!
I sincerely enjoy being around people. The experience I gained in those first jobs as a hostess made me certain I wanted to attend college and chose Tourism Administration as my career. I earned my degree in 1996 and only one month later, moved to Los Cabos permanently with a friend reconnecting with all the great people I met during my first stay here.
I consider myself lucky being part of the amazing transformation of Los Cabos. From the little fishing village with only a few luxury hotels like Palmilla, a two lane road and virtually no telephones, to our high end luxury destination!! I have watched it grow and shine as a host location for world golf championships, world fishing tournaments and a top destination for incentive trips for every major company in the world! Being witness to the opening of beautiful, luxury hotels in my beloved town, and having the chance to work for first class properties, gave me the opportunity to learn how to provide amazing customer service.
Working in the incentive business, I learned that many of the guests were visiting Los Cabos for the first time because they won the trip. It is a testament to the amazing beauty and friendliness of our town that these guests continue to return over and over with their friends and family to continue enjoying the beauty of the beaches, the excitement of the many activities and sports available, as well as the excellent dining and entertainment. I saw firsthand how Los Cabos was growing and maturing, catering to the always demanding expectation of our guests and I’m proud to know I was a part of it.
